Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories Cybersecurity Engineer in Sydney, Australia

SEL Infrastructure Defense seeks a professional, innovative and detailed individual for our Security position in Sydney, Australia . This position will focus on assessment, design, and implementation of security and communications for the power grid systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Possesses, understands and applies the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of cyber systems and related SEL products.

  • Train and assist customers with the creation, design, configuration, validation, installation, and operation of cyber systems.

  •  Complete and implement assigned work within agreed upon scope, schedule and budget to a high level of quality and safety.

  • Participate in the preparation of functional design specifications.

  • Prepare and maintain detailed design documents, reports, checklists, test reports, and deliverables.

  • Continuously identify , measure, and improve processes.

  • Understand. Create. Simplify.

  • Other duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or relevant discipline

  • 2+ years relevant application experience with electric power systems, industry practices, and *focus area practices and philosophies

  • Good knowledge of cyber and communications applications

  • Working knowledge of cyber and communications system design, studies, information and communication technology

  • Willing to travel both domestically and internationally a minimum of 25% based on focus area

  • Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills

  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities

  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment

  • Background check results satisfactory to SEL

  • Negative drug test result(s)

    Preferred Qualifications

  • CISSP, GSEC, GCIH or equivalent

  • Electrical utility, industrial plant, consulting engineering, or system integrator experience

  • Project engineering experience

  • Working knowledge of Vision or other project management tracking software

    Focus Area = Security  Security = industrial control system security experience, including technical controls, security assessments, policies, plans and procedures. CISSP and/or GSEC or equivalent certifications required . Working knowledge of NERC/CIP compliance and/or NIST SP800 security requirements. Ability to obtain security clearance.

Pay Range

We anticipate hiring a Cybersecurity Engineer between $100,000 AUD - $140,000 AUD. Our salary ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. The salary range may differ in other locations based on cost of labor. We base our starting pay offer on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
